    Cork native Jack Hickey describes the journey and power of art. How art has evolved over the last number of centuries to how creating an art piece is a journey, with deep layers. Showcasing his artwork, we are able to see the realism of life today on canvas, and we can appreciate the power of art also. Originating from Cobh, Jack Hickey is a talented artist who attended the Crawford College of Art and Design. Following his degree he has received much critical acclaim, with the Sunday Times, Irish Times & Irish Examiner each publishing outstanding reviews of his work. Jack's piece "My Time" is the Hennessy Portrait Prize Winner 2017 This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.

  • Jack Hickey Solo Exhibition - 2015

    The Doorway Gallery is delighted to host an exhibition by Jack Hickey called ‘The Nocturnes' on Thursday, September 4th between 6-8pm on 24 South Frederick Street. The exhibition will be officially opened by Ray Byrne, Hotelier, Restaurateur and Nightclub Operator and it will run until September 25th.
