  • Edible Art Exhibition for Culture night, 2013

‘I am the daughter of sugar and water’

Together with a team of 3rd year DIT Catering College students, we created a 7ft wide sculpture made from icing and sugar paste for the Edible Art exhibition, in The Doorway Gallery for Culture night 2013. On the 20th Sep buildings all over the country opened their doors from 5-10pm, welcoming in the public. Together with Goodalls, The Doorway Gallery, South Frederick St put together an unusual exhibition of edible art, featuring vegetable bodices and lots of cake and sugar, from paintings to sculpture.

The sculpture was edible and lickable, and the base was covered in after-eight chocolates that people could pull-off and eat. By the end of the night the chocolates were completely gone, a lot of the leaves had been eaten and someone had nibbled the shoulder.
