"When a load of young circus people showed up the whole place changed overnight. High-tension wires stretched across the courtyard from poles and buses. Public performances suddenly had an entire new spectrum. New styles and accents appeared, and new kinds of toys would be strewn about the place, among the tall bikes and raised garden beds. The location of these juggeling stones and diablo can be seen in the painting ‘Circus crash mat’." David Ryan
