I've been drawing since before I could speak. I studied fine art at NCAD, Dublin,
and spent many years as an award-winning illustrator, working in London, Sydney,
Hong Kong, and Dublin for top class editorial clients worldwide. I have published
five children’s books, and illustrated many more.
These abstract works are a return to painting for me; an exhilarating exploration of
colour and energy, drawing on the eclectic fiesta culture of my adopted home in
the hills near Barcelona, and the sun-drenched serenity of the Spanish landscape.
Some typography creeps in here and there, and a little humour too. It’s hard to
keep them out.
It’s such a pleasure to paint without restraints or deadlines, and the richness and
flow of oil paint is beguiling. My aim is simple; to infuse that joy into the work so
that it emanates from the paintings themselves.
